معرفی
Aaron Wright is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History within the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. His research focuses on the intersection of humanities and computing, alongside the history of science and technology, particularly in physics and modern Canada. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (2014), an MA from the same institution (2010), and a BA & Sc from McGill University (2008).
Wright’s work explores topics such as Paul Dirac’s theories of the vacuum, the historical development of thermodynamics in information science, and the visualization techniques of Penrose diagrams. His research bridges philosophy of science with technical histories, emphasizing how conceptual frameworks shape scientific progress.
He has held positions including a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University and a Lecturer on the History of Science at Harvard University. His awards include the SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship and an honourable mention from the Annals of Science annual paper prize (2016).
Wright’s publications analyze key figures and institutions in 20th-century physics, such as IBM’s role in thermodynamic information studies and the epistemological shifts in quantum theory. His current research continues to explore the interplay between technological innovation and historical context.
