Aaron Tikuisis

Aaron Tikuisis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on the structure and classification of nuclear C*-algebras, particularly exploring noncommutative dimension and its relation to regularity and classification. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (2011) and an M.Math from the University of Waterloo (2007).

His academic journey includes positions as Reader and Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen (2013–2017), a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Münster (2011–2013), and a visiting fellowship at All Souls College, Oxford (2024). He co-organized the Scottish Operator Algebras Seminar (2014–2017) and received the Israel Halperin Prize in 2020.

Research interests span C*-algebras, operator algebras, and functional analysis, with a focus on topics like nuclear dimension, Z-stability, and classification theory. His work bridges algebraic, topological, and geometric aspects of noncommutative structures. Recent publications address properties like Γ, tracial stability, and decomposition ranks in C*-algebras.

He actively organizes conferences and seminars, including the CMS summer meeting (2023) and events at the Fields Institute. His contributions emphasize foundational advancements in operator algebra theory and its applications.
