Aaron Smith

Aaron Smith is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at ArtCenter College of Design, specializing in figurative art exploring performative gender expressions and self-determined identity. He holds a unique residency distinction as the inaugural Artist in Residence at the J. Paul Getty Museum. His work has been showcased in solo exhibitions in major U.S. cities and prominent institutions like Laguna Art Museum and Frye Art Museum.

Smith balances academic roles with his studio practice and co-owns/curates HeyThere Projects, a gallery in Joshua Tree, CA. He teaches courses such as Eye on Berlin, Image and Idea, and Painting Projects at ArtCenter.
