Aaron Sigauke is a Lecturer in Social Science Education at the School of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education, University of New England (UNE), NSW, Australia. He holds a PhD in Citizenship Education from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and has prior academic experience at Midlands State University and the University of Zimbabwe. He also served as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Aberdeen before joining UNE.

Aaron's research focuses on citizenship education, social justice, globalization, educational inclusion, and adult literacy, with a strong emphasis on African contexts, particularly Zimbabwe. His work critically examines the role of indigenous knowledge, decolonization, and policy implementation in education. He has published extensively in journals such as The Social Educator, Education in the North, and Citizenship Teaching & Learning, and contributed chapters to major academic volumes including the Palgrave Handbook of Citizenship and Education and Language and Decolonisation.
His recent publications (2021–2024) reflect a growing engagement with decolonial theory, coloniality of citizenship, and global education, often through comparative studies between Australia and Zimbabwe. Themes such as hybrid identities, place-based learning, and the intersection of policy and practice are central to his scholarly output.

He is also the UNE School of Education co-coordinator for the Global Education Project NSW. He supervises Higher Degree Research (HDR) students and contributes to teacher education through courses such as EDSS312, EDSS323, and EDSS379.
He is affiliated with the Social and Citizenship Education Association Australia (SCEAA) and maintains an active research profile with a focus on equity, inclusion, and transformative education in both local and global contexts.
