Aaron Moore is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Winnipeg. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of City Planning at the University of Manitoba and a Research Fellow at the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance (IMFG) at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto. His expertise spans urban politics, public policy, municipal governance, and infrastructure finance.

Research Interests: Urban development planning, municipal economic development policy, governance of infrastructure, and the role of municipal economic development agencies (MEDAs). His current project investigates MEDAs’ organizational structures, stakeholder interactions, and policy oversight mechanisms in Canadian municipalities, funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant (2021).
Publications: His work includes peer-reviewed articles on urban politics, public participation in planning, and municipal finance, as well as books like Electing a Mega-mayor: Toronto 2014 (2021) and Planning Politics in Toronto (2013). He has also authored policy reports on density bonusing and municipal reform for institutions like the C.D. Howe Institute.
Awards/Grants: Recipient of SSHRC funding (Grant #430-2021-00570) for his research on municipal economic development agencies.
Teaching: Teaches courses such as City Politics, Public Policy Process, and The Politics of Urban Development at the University of Winnipeg.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the IMFG and collaborates with researchers like Malcom Bird and Joe Lyons on municipal governance projects.
