Aaron Lussier

Aaron Lussier is an Assistant Professor in Mineralogy at the Canadian Museum of Nature. He holds a PhD in Mineralogy/Crystallography from the University of Manitoba (2012) and completed postdoctoral work on uranium mineralogy at the University of Notre Dame (2012–2015). His research bridges crystallography, geochemistry, and nanomineralogy to explore mineral behavior in natural and anthropogenic systems.

Recent work examines nanomineral transport in sensitive ecosystems and biomineralogical systems.

Publications highlight trends in uranium mineral behavior, tourmaline structural analysis, and nanomineralogy. His NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2014–2015) underscores his contributions to mineralogical research.

He collaborates with the Mineralogical Association of Canada and represents Canada on the International Mineralogical Association – Commission on Museums. His projects span mineral discovery, environmental geochemistry, and advanced crystallographic techniques.
