Aaron Day

Dr. Aaron Day serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Journalism & Public Relations within the College of Liberal Arts at California State University, Long Beach. With over 22 years of professional broadcast journalism experience, he concurrently works as a Producer at KTTV-TV in Los Angeles, creating morning news, documentaries, and special projects. His industry leadership includes prior roles as Supervising Producer at KCPQ-TV and KING-TV in Seattle, and television positions in San Diego.

Dr. Day holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Electronic Arts from California State University, Long Beach, and earned both his Master's and Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from City University of Seattle. His educational background bridges practical media production with theoretical leadership frameworks.

His professional expertise focuses on broadcast journalism innovation and organizational change management within television news environments. Dr. Day specializes in navigating newsroom transformations, live coverage strategy, and breaking news operations, drawing from extensive field experience across major market stations. His teaching integrates real-world production techniques with media ethics and leadership principles.

With 15+ years of teaching across Seattle University, Eastern Washington University, and Los Angeles City College, he mentors students in reporting, news writing, and broadcasting while overseeing student media operations. Dr. Day actively contributes to academic-media intersections through memberships in the College Media Association and Broadcast Educators Association, advising student chapters of PRSSA, NAHJ, NABJ, and SPJ at CSULB while connecting classroom learning to industry standards.
