Dr. Aaron Chin is a Lecturer in the School of Human Sciences at the University of Western Australia (UWA). He holds dual roles as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and academic, with over a decade of industry experience in biomechanics and engineering, collaborating with Olympic athletes and clinical populations. He completed a PhD in Biomechanics (2009) and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Exercise Physiology (2022) from Murdoch University.
His research focuses on biomechanics across sports, clinical rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Key areas include orthopaedic rehabilitation, exercise physiology, and the application of technologies in biomechanical analysis. He integrates practical, theoretical, and applied approaches from his clinical and academic work.
Teaching responsibilities include units like Advanced Biomechanical Methods, Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise, and Neurological Rehabilitation Research. His teaching excellence was recognized with the 2023 Early Career Individual Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr. Chin’s publications span neurotrauma studies, sports biomechanics (e.g., cricket bowling kinematics), and pediatric motor disorders. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to education and health.
