Aaron A. Elrod is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of the South (Sewanee). He holds a B.A. from Centenary College of Louisiana and an M.A./Ph.D. in Economics from The George Washington University. His research focuses on environmental regulation's impact on U.S. manufacturers' product decisions and outbound foreign direct investment. Prior to academia, he worked at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and conducted research at the U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Economic Studies.

Research Interests: Environmental and natural resource economics, public economics, industrial organization, and energy economics. His work examines regulatory effects on manufacturing and international investment patterns.
Awards:
- U.S. Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award (for federal service excellence)
Teaching & Professional Experience: Teaches environmental economics, energy economics, and public economics. Previously served as an economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis and held Special Sworn Status at the U.S. Census Bureau.
