Aanjaneya Kumar

Aanjaneya Kumar is a Complexity Postdoctoral Fellow and Omidyar Postdoctoral Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute. He completed his PhD at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, India, focusing on partially observed stochastic processes.

His research interests span mathematical modeling of complex systems through statistical physics, network science, and evolutionary game theory, with projects categorized under:

• Extremal statistics and rare events
• Social dynamics and cultural evolution
• Resilient institutional design

Scientific recognition includes the Omidyar Postdoctoral Fellow award. Outside academia, he engages with writing, social justice advocacy, and horror cinema analysis.
