Aamir Hashmi

Dr. Aamir Hashmi is an Associate Professor (Teaching) in the Department of Economics at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Arts. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (2007) and has extensive academic experience including roles at the National University of Singapore (2007–2016). His research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary policy, and industrial organization with notable work on market structure-innovation linkages and MOOCs' labor market impacts. He has secured grants including an SSHRC Insight Development Grant (2019–2022) and received multiple teaching awards including NUSTA Fellowship (2014–2017).
