Aakriti Kapoor (she/her) is an Associate Fellow at the Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, and a Researcher in Education with the Toronto District School Board, holding additional affiliation with Queen's University. As a first-generation immigrant settler on the traditional territories of the Anishinabewaki, Huron-Wendat, and Haudenosaunee peoples, she brings critical perspectives to educational research and practice.
Her research focuses on:
- Critical education policy and anti-colonial frameworks
- Anti-oppression methodologies and solidarity building
- Community-based participatory action research
- Black studies and youth-centered pedagogies
- International student experiences and critical global citizenship
- Neoliberalism's impact on education systems
She advocates for transformative educational practices that dismantle systemic inequities through collaborative, community-engaged scholarship.
