Professor Antonia Dolores Asencio Martinez is affiliated with the Department of Applied Biology at Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). She serves as a research group director focusing on Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Ecophysiology, and Biotechnology of algae. Her teaching responsibilities include coordinating the BOTANY course in the Bachelor's in Pharmacy and participating in the Doctorate in The Environment and Sustainability.

Research Interests: Her work spans broad disciplines in Botany, Biology, and Biotechnology, with specific focus on algal Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Ecophysiology, and Biotechnology. She leads a research group exploring evolutionary relationships, physiological adaptations, and biotechnological applications of algae.
Teaching & Tutorials: Delivers lectures and labs for Pharmacy undergraduates and coordinates doctoral research. Tutorials available via email appointment (biologia.aplicada@umh.es) for both in-person and virtual sessions.
