ANTONIO MARQUES

Antonio Marques is an Assistant Professor in the Textile Department at the University of Minho's School of Engineering. He holds a doctoral degree in Textile Engineering (2015) and a master's in Design and Marketing (2000) from the University of Minho, along with a bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering from University of Beira Interior (1992).

Recent publications emphasize sustainable fashion education, with projects like TO-BE-GREEN and research on denim waste reuse, leather waste frameworks, and digital brand presence in footwear companies. His work bridges academic curricula with real-world industry challenges.

Marques supervises numerous PhD and master’s students in fashion design and textile engineering, while participating in scientific committees for international conferences like AITAE, AUTEX, and CIMODE.
