Antonia Giannouli is an Associate Professor of Byzantine Literature at the University of Cyprus (since 2013), based in the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies. She holds a Dr. phil. from the University of Vienna (1998) following undergraduate studies at the University of Crete. Her research focuses on religious poetry, hymnography, exegetical texts, Byzantine lexicography, and critical editions of Byzantine literature.

Her expertise includes analyzing commentaries on Andreas of Crete's Great Canon and the historical context of Byzantine rhetorical practices.
