A.J. Murphy is an Assistant Professor of History and affiliated faculty in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University. Their research examines American military history, the history of capitalism, and gender/sexuality studies, with current book project 'Pentagon Capitalism' exploring military organizational modeling on corporate structures.
Research has been supported by the U.S. Army Center of Military History, Hagley Museum and Library, Huntington Library, and John Sloan Dickey Center at Dartmouth College. Their archival work includes fellowships at the Hoover Institution and U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center.
