Dr. A. Helene Robinson is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Learning at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. She serves as Director of the Critical, Creative, and Design Thinking program and Arts Integration Coordinator. Previously a special education teacher for 14 years, she transitioned to higher education in 2007. She holds an EdD in Educational Leadership (2009, Liberty University), an EdS in Early Childhood Special Education (2000, University of Miami), and two additional degrees from Nova Southeastern University and Liberty University.
Her research focuses on arts integration methodologies for marginalized student populations, inclusive education practices, and teacher quality. Notable projects include leading the $500K Untie the Right Brain Grant (2009-2011), developing interdisciplinary arts integration programs, and co-designing courses with arts faculty from multiple disciplines. She has published extensively on topics like cultural reciprocity in education, social-emotional skill development, and program evaluation for disadvantaged learners.
