Özlem Onaran is Professor of Economics, Associate Head of Research & Knowledge Exchange, and Co-Director of the Institute of Political Economy, Governance, Finance and Accountability (PEGFA) at the University of Greenwich. She directs the Greenwich Political Economy Research Centre and has led projects for ILO, UNCTAD, and the European Commission. Her research examines inequality, wage-led growth, employment, globalization, and crises, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications.
She serves on scientific committees for the Foundation of European Progressive Studies and Hans Boeckler Foundation. Her policy work advocates for fiscal policies prioritizing social infrastructure investment and wage growth to achieve equitable economic development.
