Prof. Dr. Özlem KARABULUTLU is a full-time Professor in the Department of Nursing at Kafkas University's Faculty of Health Sciences, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing. She has been a faculty member since 2013 (initially as an Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor before becoming a Professor). Her administrative roles include Head of the Department (2024-present), Deputy Director of the Institute (2022-2025), Director of the Research and Application Center (2019-2023, 2021-2023), and University Quality Coordinator (2021-2023).
Her education includes a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing from Atatürk University (2008-2012), a Master's in the same field from Atatürk University (2005-2008), a Master's in Occupational Health and Safety from Kafkas University (2022), a Master's in Human Resources Management from Kafkas University (2022), and a Bachelor's in Nursing from Istanbul University Florence Nightingale School of Nursing (1995-1999).
Prof. KARABULUTLU's research focuses extensively on women's health across the lifespan. Key areas include:

- The psychosocial impact of COVID-19 on women's health, including phobia, anxiety, and vaccination hesitancy among health workers.
- Maternal health outcomes, exploring links between sleep quality, life quality, internet addiction, and childbirth fear during pregnancy.
- Reproductive health service quality, family planning attitudes, and knowledge assessment among populations and health students.
- Clinical interventions in obstetrics, such as uterine massage for postpartum hemorrhage reduction.
- Educational research in nursing and midwifery, particularly forensic nursing knowledge and genital hygiene practices.
Prof. KARABULUTLU has supervised a significant number of graduate students, advising on theses related to midwifery practices, prenatal education, gynecological oncology nursing, women's health behaviors, sexual health education, and the psychosocial aspects of pregnancy and menopause. She has led several research projects, including studies on breastfeeding education for primiparous mothers, menstruation health education for adolescents, and the impact of training on healthcare workers' attitudes towards violence against women.
