Ömer Bilgin

Ömer Bilgin is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Dayton's School of Engineering. He holds professional engineering licenses in California and Massachusetts.

His research examines soil-structure interactions in geotechnical systems including retaining walls, foundations, pipelines, and slope stability. Recent work focuses on numerical modeling of sheet pile walls, mechanically stabilized earth structures, and buried pipeline behavior under thermal and mechanical stresses.

He teaches courses in Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Design, Soil Dynamics, and Retaining Structures. Professional memberships include ASCE Geo-Institute and International Society for Soil Mechanics.
