Èric Cots

Dr. Èric Cots is a researcher at the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ), affiliated with the research group of Prof. Marcos García Suero. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from IQS (Universitat Ramon Llull) and a master’s in Organic Chemistry from the Universitat de Barcelona. His master’s thesis focused on the enantioselective synthesis of enantiopure trans-Hydrochromene Lactones under the supervision of Mercedes Amat and Joan Bosch. Since October 2017, he has been pursuing his PhD while contributing to the Proof of Concept project (PDC2021-121180-I00), which aims to develop technology originating from Prof. Suero’s research group.

His research interests align with advanced synthetic methodologies, particularly in enantioselective organic synthesis and catalytic processes. He collaborates on projects funded by ICIQ and engages with initiatives promoting scientific innovation and molecular medicine.

Dr. Cots’ work is embedded within ICIQ’s interdisciplinary environment, leveraging facilities such as the Photophysics Spectroscopy and Material Characterisation labs. His contributions support translational research bridging organic chemistry and applied technologies.
