Áureo de Paula

Áureo de Paula is a Professor of Economics at University College London, with affiliations to institutions including the Sao Paulo School of Economics, the Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice, the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and the CEPR. His research bridges applied economic theory, econometrics, and empirical microeconomics, focusing on methodological questions in multi-agent models and empirical studies in developing nations.

• Educational background: B.A./M.Sc. in Economics from Pontificia Universidade Catolica – RJ (Brazil) and Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.

His recent work explores the persistence of socio-emotional skills across the life cycle and intergenerational transmission, as well as methods for recovering social networks from panel data. He serves as an associate editor for REStud, JBES, and the Econometrics Journal, and his findings appear in top-tier academic publications.
