Àlex Mitrani is an art historian and curator currently serving as an associate lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He teaches courses on Contemporary Art and has been actively involved in curatorial work since 2004, including directing the Projections programme for young artists at the Barcelona Urban Property Chamber. He also collaborates with the Centre d'Estudis Catalans de Paris at the Université de la Sorbonne.

His research focuses on the theory and criticism of visual arts in Catalonia, with particular emphasis on modernity, fragility, and design activism. He has co-authored studies on Catalan art history and contributed to numerous exhibition catalogues.
Mitrani's publications and exhibitions highlight interdisciplinary approaches connecting art, design, and social change. He has presented at international conferences on topics such as political fragility in Catalan art and popular print sources.
