Senior Lecturer
Matthew Roy is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester. He joined in 2013 as a Research Associate in weld modeling, focusing on residual stress and metallurgy. In 2014, he became a Lecturer supporting the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Materials for Demanding Environments. His research emphasizes advanced manufacturing, materials processing, welding, and resource efficiency. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of British Columbia, following degrees from Western University. His work addresses material performance under extreme conditions, including thermal-mechanical processing and sustainability.
