Research Professor
Vladimir Fomin is Research Professor at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden), leading research at the Institute for Integrative Nanoscience. His pioneering work explores topological phenomena in quantum rings, vortex dynamics in 3D superconductor nanoarchitectures, and nanoscale phonon transport. His distinguished career includes seminal contributions to condensed matter physics, evidenced by over 200 publications. Honors include the Kapitsa Medal (2000), Honorary Membership in the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (2007), and Outstanding Referee recognition from Physical Review journals (2023). Professor Fomin leads international collaborations on quantum materials and supervises doctoral candidates. His research encompasses: Topological transitions in curved superconductor nanostructures Quantum interference in mesoscopic systems Hybrid phonon-plasmon excitations Nanoscale thermal engineering
