James Peters

James Peters is Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba's Price Faculty of Engineering. His research explores computational proximity, digital topology, and computer vision, developing frameworks for signal analysis and shape detection. Key innovations include near set theory for perceptual similarity, optical vortex nerve analysis, and quaternion-based fMRI interpretation.

He leads the Computational Intelligence Laboratory, focusing on topological data analysis for video tracking, neuroimaging, and pattern recognition.
