Dr. Özlem Ulucan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Bingöl University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on postcolonial studies, comparative literature, and feminist criticism with particular attention to nationalism, modernization, and cultural heritage. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and has supervised master's theses on Toni Morrison and feminist critiques of 19th-century literature. Her academic career includes authoring books like Chris Cleave's Little Bee and The Modernization Process of Egypt and Turkey , as well as publishing in journals such as Adıyaman University Journal of Social Sciences Institute and presenting at international conferences in England and Turkey. Her recent work explores postcolonial identity in African-American and Middle Eastern literature. Ulucan's articles demonstrate thematic consistency around colonialism's lingering effects, gender dynamics in canonical texts, and the intersection of nationalism with literary form.
