Associate Professor
Martina Granholm is an Associate Professor at Mid Sweden University, affiliated with the Department of Communication, Quality Technology and Information Systems (KKI). She serves as Deputy Head of Department and Assistant Prefect, overseeing undergraduate Computer Science programs and acting as Director of Studies for GU Computer Science. Her work spans crisis management, information systems, and municipal emergency operations. Her research explores materiality in IT , virtual emergency command structures , and cross-border collaboration in crises. Publications analyze the role of physical and digital artifacts in crisis coordination, remote EOC operations, and communication challenges in distributed teams. Recent work focuses on automatic speech recognition tools for emergency documentation. Martina contributes to the Risk and Crisis Research Centre and has presented at the ISCRAM conference. Her academic output includes a 2022 doctoral thesis on post-adoption technology choices and a 2019 licentiate thesis on materiality in municipal crisis management.
