Dr. Jan Simon Schymik is an Acting Professor of Economics (W3 fix-term) at the University of Mannheim's Department of Economics and affiliated researcher at the Bonn-Mannheim Center for Collaborative Research CRC TR 224. He holds a PhD in Economics from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a Diploma in Business Economics from Mannheim. His Fulbright fellowship included visiting scholar work at Harvard Business School.
Research Focus: Schymik specializes in International Economics, Macroeconomics, and Organizational Economics, with emphasis on industrial policy, trade shocks, firm organization, and labor market dynamics. His work often integrates empirical analysis with quantitative modeling to study globalization impacts.
