Karine Marcotte is a Full Professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Université de Montréal, within the Faculty of Medicine. Her research focuses on neurobiological mechanisms underlying acquired language disorders (aphasia, traumatic brain injury), early intervention impacts, and language recovery. She holds a PhD in biomedical sciences and completed postdoctoral training in neuroimaging at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Active since 2012, she leads the RENATO lab investigating speech and language rehabilitation. She has secured major grants from FRQS, REPAR, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Notable awards include the 2019 Excellence in Teaching Award from Université de Montréal.
