Martin Fehr Therkildsen serves as an External Lecturer at the Department of Communication within the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Copenhagen, where he teaches Speech Workshop and Counseling and Rhetorical Pedagogy. He concurrently holds a part-time project position at Ungdomsbureauet (Youth Bureau) since 2014, leading the "Røst" initiative to enhance high school students' speech capabilities and contributing to events like Ungdommens Folkemøde (Youth Assembly). Holding a Master's degree in Rhetoric, his institutional presence spans both academic instruction and youth development programs. His research centers on classical oral speech traditions and rhetorical pedagogy, with specialized expertise in epideictic rhetoric—encompassing ceremonial speeches, praise orations, and festive rhetoric. His master's thesis analyzed 27 parental confirmation speeches supplemented by focus group interviews with newly confirmed teenagers, with findings presented at the 2017 Conference of the Rhetoric Society of Europe. He is currently finalizing a book chapter on confirmation speeches for an upcoming Danish rhetoric publication. Therkildsen's scholarly output includes the 2020 book chapter "Festtaler" (Celebration Speeches) in "Danske taler: 20 opbyggelige analyser," examining Danish ceremonial speech structures within broader rhetorical frameworks. This work demonstrates consistent thematic focus on practical speech traditions and cultural rhetoric, contributing to Scandinavian linguistic studies through analysis of indigenous speech forms and their educational applications in Danish societal contexts.
