Professor
Prof. Dr. Martin Wolf is a Professor at the Freie Universität Berlin and Director of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. His research focuses on ultrafast laser spectroscopy, surface reaction dynamics, and electron dynamics. He holds honorary professorships at both Freie Universität Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin. Key contributions include studies on surface femtochemistry and THz spectroscopy. Education: PhD in Experimental Physics, Freie Universität Berlin (1991) Diploma in Theoretical Physics, Freie Universität Berlin (1988) Research Interests: Combining experimental and theoretical approaches to study molecular processes at surfaces and interfaces, with applications in catalysis and energy materials. Recent work explores electron dynamics in electrochemical systems and spillover effects in metal electrodes. Awards: Karl Scheel Prize (1999) Heisenberg-Stipendium (2009) Grants & Labs: Leads the Dynamics of Correlated Materials group and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects such as the Cluster of Excellence e-conversion. His lab develops advanced spectroscopic techniques for nanoscale characterization.
