Roles and Affiliations: Dongyan Xu is the Samuel D. Conte Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University and Director of CERIAS (Cybersecurity Center). He leads the Purdue System Security Lab (PurSec) and focuses on cyber and cyber-physical security research. His work extends to cloud computing and embedded systems security. Education: BS in Computer Science from Zhongshan University (1994), PhD in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2001). Research Interests: Cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems security, embedded systems security, malware analysis, reverse engineering, and cloud infrastructure optimization. Key projects include virtualization-based malware defense, Bluetooth protocol vulnerability analysis, and secure UAV control systems. Grants and Funding: Principal Investigator of over $36 million in grants, with total research funding exceeding $132 million from sponsors like AFOSR, DARPA, NSA, NSF, and industry partners. Projects address automotive cybersecurity, IoT security, and critical infrastructure protection.
