Associate Professor
Yuankai (Kenny) Tao is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University's School of Engineering and an SPIE Faculty Fellow. He directs the Graduate Studies program in Biomedical Engineering and leads research in optical imaging systems for clinical diagnostics and therapeutic monitoring in ophthalmology, gastroenterology, and oncology. His lab develops technologies like intraoperative OCT and SECTR, focusing on noninvasive subcellular visualization and biomarker monitoring. Collaborations span engineering, basic sciences, and medicine to translate innovations into clinical tools.
