Christos Vlachos serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philology (Specialization in Linguistics) at the University of Patras since 2021, with over a decade of teaching experience across Greek institutions including the University of Ioannina, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Hellenic Open University. His academic credentials include: PhD in Linguistics, University of Patras M.Phil. in Linguistics, University of Cambridge Philology (Linguistics), University of Patras His research centers on theoretical and experimental syntactic analysis of modern Greek, specializing in movement phenomena, ellipsis, and complement selection structures through comparative studies with English and French. He employs empirical validation via grammaticality judgment experiments and natural speech corpus analysis, bridging formal linguistic theory with experimental methodology. Key recognitions include: Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship (2015-2017) at Queen Mary University of London As an academic advisor, he currently supervises one doctoral thesis on Greek tense, aspect, and case systems while mentoring numerous graduate and undergraduate students.
