OTILIA MONTEIRO FERNANDES is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education and Psychology at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Vila Real, Portugal. With a career spanning from 1989 to present, she began as an Assistant Professor before advancing to her current position as Associate Professor. Her academic journey has been dedicated to understanding family dynamics, adolescent development, and psychological wellbeing. Dr. Fernandes' research focuses on several key areas: Clinical Psychology and Psychoanalysis Child and Adolescent Development Family Studies and Family Psychology Violence Prevention, particularly sibling violence and cyberbullying Youth Development and Applied Psychology Her publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on understanding family dynamics, with particular emphasis on sibling relationships, parental communication, and adolescent mental health. Over the past decade, her research has increasingly addressed digital challenges facing youth, including cyberbullying and internet addiction. Her scholarly work shows a progression from foundational family psychology research to contemporary issues at the intersection of technology and adolescent development.
