Delayne Y. Johnson, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Delaware State University, part of the Division of Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science. She coordinates the BS in Secondary Mathematics Education program and serves as President of the Delaware Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Education: PhD in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics Education) from the University of Delaware (2009), M.A. Education (2005), M.S. Mathematics Education (Towson University, 2001), B.S. Mathematics (University of Maryland Baltimore County, 1997), and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Leadership (The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, 2016). Research focuses on equity-driven mathematics education, including culturally responsive pedagogy, identity formation in STEM among marginalized groups, and computational thinking integration. Key interests include race, social justice, and access for underserved students. Selected publications and presentations emphasize preservice teacher development, African American male students' mathematics identity, and problem-solving methodologies. Active in professional organizations like AERA, AMTE, and NCTM.
