Dr. Adebukola Oyewunmi is a Lecturer in Leadership at the Teesside University International Business School (TUIBS), specializing in leadership, organisational psychology, and human resource management. She holds a PhD in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from Covenant University, Nigeria, and a Master’s in Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of South Wales. Her research focuses on multi-level dynamics of human behavior in organizations, emphasizing interventionist paradigms to address leadership challenges. She serves as an Associate Editor of the Learning and Organisation Development Journal and a member of the editorial board of the Personality and Social Psychology Review . Dr. Oyewunmi is also the founder of Characom Leadership Consulting and an academic fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). Education: PhD: Industrial Relations and HRM (Covenant University, 2017) MSc: Strategic HRM (University of South Wales, 2009) Her research interests span leadership development, ethical behavior, and cross-cultural interventions, particularly in addressing the 'dark side' of leadership. Key contributions include editing The Dark Side of Leadership: A Cross-Cultural Compendium (2025), which explores toxic leadership behaviors and interventions across global contexts. She has collaborated internationally, with research spanning Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Recent articles highlight her focus on whistleblowing ethics in East Africa, spiritual intelligence in workplaces, and employee productivity in financial institutions. Her work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications, advocating for proactive leadership paradigms. Dr. Oyewunmi is also affiliated with the Global Futures Literacy Network and has assessed leadership programs for the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
