Sebastian Jilke is Provost's Distinguished Associate Professor at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy and co-director of the Better Government Lab. His research applies behavioral science to public management, examining how government reforms affect citizens and service delivery, particularly regarding administrative burdens and equity. His work demonstrates consistent focus on experimental approaches to public administration challenges, with recent publications examining policy implementation barriers, motivational structures in bureaucracy, and behavioral interventions. Research consistently addresses practical governance challenges through rigorous methodological designs. Jilke maintains active policy engagement, advising multiple federal agencies including OMB, SSA, and DHS.
