Anne Hyland is a Senior Lecturer in Music Analysis at the University of Manchester , specializing in 19th-century instrumental music with a focus on Schubert's chamber works . Recent publications highlight her expertise in Schubert's formal innovations , Chopin's sonata structures , and Joseph Mayseder's quartets , often integrating historical evidence and reconstructive methodologies . She has supervised numerous dissertations and taught modules on Schenkerian Analysis , Neo-Riemannian Theory , and Historically Informed Analysis .
