Rakshitha Hitibandara

Rakshitha Hitibandara is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Centre for Future of Work and the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). She previously held positions as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow and Senior Lecturer at Teesside University, alongside professional accountancy experience in Sri Lanka.

• Sustainability-driven entrepreneurship

Her 2023 publication in Critical Perspectives on Accounting analyzes moral economies and political rhetoric in sustainability accounting, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach linking accounting theory with social justice.

She leads modules including Financial Analysis, Auditing & Accountability, and Contemporary Accounting Issues. Her work engages SMEs, communities, and international organizations to advance UN Sustainable Development Goals.
