Jonathan Lasch serves as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Voice at Wayne State University in Detroit, teaching courses in voice techniques, opera workshop, and diction. An accomplished baritone, he maintains an active international performance career in opera, oratorio, and art song recitals while co-directing the Detroit Song Collective with his wife, soprano Caitlin Lynch. His pedagogical emphasis includes vocal technique, diction, and collaborative piano partnerships. Critical acclaim highlights his "arresting color and heft" and "thrillingly resonant" voice, though no formal scientific awards or fellowships are documented. As Coordinator of Voice, he oversees curriculum development and has served as adjudicator for Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions and NATS competitions. Dr. Lasch co-founded the Detroit Song Collective in 2018 to advance vocal chamber music in Southeast Michigan, producing programs ranging from Schubert's Schwanengesang to new American works.
