Research Fellow
Hua Guo is a Research Fellow at Coventry University's Centre for Manufacturing and Materials, part of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME). He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, an MSc in Automotive Engineering from Coventry University, and a PhD in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (Coventry University), focusing on finite element modeling of aircraft tires and rubber-like materials. His research interests include metrology, measurement uncertainty, and large-volume coordinate metrology systems. Key projects include H1perChain (2019–2023) on zero-emission vehicle supply chains, H1PERBAT (2017–2019) on high-performance batteries, and InnEx (2016–2020) on automotive exhaust systems. He has received the Research Excellence With Impact Award (2016). Recent research focuses on residual stress analysis in additive manufacturing (e.g., laser powder bed fusion, wire arc additive manufacturing) and material characterization of alloys like Inconel and titanium. His work bridges fundamental metrology principles with industrial applications to enhance manufacturing competitiveness.
