Eun Hee Jeon is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She serves as the ESL Add-On Licensure Program Coordinator and TESOL Minor Program Coordinator. Her expertise spans Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Second Language Reading, Sociolinguistics, and Pragmatics. Dr. Jeon holds a Ph.D. from Northern Arizona University. Her research focuses on understanding the factors influencing second language (L2) proficiency, with a particular emphasis on reading comprehension and sociocultural aspects of language use. Her recent work includes meta-analytic studies examining correlates of L2 listening, speaking, and reading skills, as well as methodological advancements in measuring L2 proficiency. Key themes include analyzing learner differences, exploring internal/external correlates of language abilities, and refining assessment tools. Jeon's publications consistently address theoretical and practical dimensions of SLA, offering insights for pedagogical strategies and program development. She has contributed to understanding morphological awareness's role in L2 reading and the efficacy of instructional interventions for pragmatic development.
