Julie Borup Jensen is a Professor at the Department of Culture and Learning, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Aalborg University, Denmark. She holds a PhD and a diploma in violin, reflecting her interdisciplinary background in education, aesthetics, and the arts. Her research and teaching are centered on organizational learning, creativity, and aesthetic dimensions in educational processes. Her research interests include organizational and professional learning, creativity and aesthetic knowledge, the role of materiality and physical environments in learning, and action research methodologies. She emphasizes playful and artistic approaches as tools for co-creative and reflective practices in educational and organizational settings. Her recent publications (2022–2026) reveal a consistent focus on playful learning, aesthetic education, practice-based knowledge, and innovative pedagogical methods. These works span journals and books, addressing topics such as multimodal knowledge, arts-based research, and participatory methods in early childhood and higher education. External PhD co-supervision in targeted efforts for children and youth in vulnerable situations (2025–2028). Active contributor to master’s programs in Learning and Change Processes, with specializations in innovation, leadership, and pedagogical leadership. She leads significant research projects such as 'Playful Learning' and 'PÆL: Pedagogy, Aesthetic Learning Processes and Management,' and has been involved in organizing academic conferences and serving on editorial boards. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and sustainable development.
