Nicolette (Lettie) Bishop is a Professor of Exercise Immunology at Loughborough University. Her research focuses on the effects of exercise on immunity, inflammation, and infection risk across populations, including individuals with chronic conditions and elite athletes. She has secured over £2.5 million in grant funding and is a core investigator in the £11.6 million Leicester Biomedical Research Centre. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications, she co-authored the International Society of Exercise and Immunology Consensus Statements in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Bishop chairs the UK Society for Exercise Immunology and previously served as Associate Editor for Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise .
