Sing-Hoi Sze is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on computational biology, including multiple sequence alignment, motif finding, biological network analysis, and gene cluster identification. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (2000), an M.S. from Pennsylvania State University (1995), and a B.S. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1990). Awards include the 2006 Undergraduate Faculty Teaching Award from the Computer Science Department. His research projects involve developing algorithms for bioinformatics problems such as transcription factor binding site prediction and RNA-Seq analysis. His software tools include NDComplex for protein interaction network analysis, Post-Processing for de Bruijn graph splicing graphs, and SClassify for protein family classification. Teaching responsibilities include courses like CSCE 222 Discrete Structures, CSCE 433 Formal Languages and Automata, and BICH 419 Computational Techniques for Evolutionary Analysis. His work bridges computational methods with biological applications, emphasizing algorithmic innovation in genomics and systems biology.
