Dana L. Alden is the William R. Johnson Jr. Distinguished Professor and Chair of Marketing at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii at Manoa. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sustainable Marketing and Co-Chair of the Research Innovations in Sustainable Marketing Symposium II (2025). His academic career spans over three decades, starting as an Assistant Professor (1989–1994), progressing to Associate Professor (1995–2000), and becoming a full Professor since 2000. Academically, Alden holds a PhD in Marketing and International Business from the University of Texas, Austin (1990), an MBA from the University of Hawaii (1984), and advanced degrees in Public Affairs (1977) and Environmental Studies (1973) from the University of California.
