Prof. Dr. Constantin Willems holds the Chair of Civil Law and Roman Law at Philipps-Universität Marburg's Marburg Law School. His research focuses on historical and contemporary aspects of civil law, particularly Roman law and its European reception. Key projects include the DFG-funded 'Rabbinic Civil Law in Ancient Legal Context' and leadership in the DFG-Graduiertenkolleg on religious atmospheres in antiquity. Educational background includes law studies at Trier University, doctorate (2011), and habilitation (2016). Research interests span Roman law in late antiquity, Justinian legislation, European legal history connections with English Common Law, German contract law, and antitrust regulations.
