Adjunct Professor
Eugene Barsky serves as a Research Data Librarian and Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia's School of Information within the Faculty of Arts. He actively collaborates with the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance), the European Union's OpenAIRE initiative, and contributes to national research infrastructure development. His research focuses on end-to-end research data lifecycle management, spanning data planning, curation, deposit, and long-term preservation. Key initiatives include building Lunaris (a national research data discovery service), leading the Alliance-funded Geodisy project as Principal Investigator, and co-founding Canada's Portage Network . His work emphasizes scalable metadata frameworks and cross-border data interoperability standards for academic research communities. Professional recognition includes awards from: Canadian Association of Research Libraries American Society for Engineering Education Special Library Association Barsky has published over thirty peer-reviewed papers and delivered seventy-plus conference presentations globally. His leadership extends to national data infrastructure development rather than direct student supervision.
